Property taxes have soared in recent years. Scott pledges to work tirelessly to reduce this undue burden on hard-working Nebraskans, and that process starts with fully funding our schools at the state level.
Year after year, the State Legislature has ducked its responsibility to equip our public schools with the resources they need to operate, leaving it to local authorities to bridge that funding gap through heightened property taxes. This is an out-dated, unacceptable method for school funding. Our students deserve better, as do our property owners.
